It’s not officially winter yet but it feels like it, looks like it and smells like it. December is the month that marks the commencement of winter tide. When crystal dusts start to plummet from the sky, it won’t be long for sparkling lights to surface and glow at the onset twilight of the night at adorned streets, parks, houses and shops. There’s never been more colorful, more glittery, sparklier, brighter and more festive holiday than Christmas celebration. The reason why I love this season super much.
It’s still autumn but the backdrop says otherwise. It’s snowing! I’ve invariably adored winter wonderland concept ever since. The fresh snowfall is just sublime. The white-out panorama from the raw crystal dust of snow flakes that envelop exposed surfaces is heavenly! It might be bitterly cold, but that’s the price of winter beauty. Every season has its good and its bad. But I always look on the season’s fine facets. One of the cold-flavored days’ good aspects is the metamorphosis of our wardrobes.
There’s no better way to relish such a lovely day than to bask in the afternoon autumn breeze while treading the embellished streets, wandering between buildings and strolling aimlessly. It’s Friday, and we are having a lovely weather again. It’s not windy and it’s not freezing cold. With the physical benefit comes a mental bonus with just idly cruising through places. It releases happy hormones and reduces stress. With hot cocoa in my mind, I’m geared for lengthy exploration by foot.
Iowa’s winter is one of worst in the country. Technically, it’s still autumn but this month of November seems to be the coldest November so far in all my 10 years here in Iowa. I love snow though. The white-out style snowstorm is paradoxically one of my favorites and at the same time one of the scariest to brave yourself out and wheeled up to work. Every year, there are even strings of days of sub zero temperatures. It’s teeth-chattering cold and today feels like winter. I can’t go out without bundling up and donning something thick for an outerwear. Well, it’s almost fab December, so it’s justified.
It’s the time of the year again. The time when people start to hoard that sharing sentiment. The season to exude that cheerful spirit and illuminate that inner gleam towards living souls. It’s the flavor of this occasion that soften the heart of even the callused core. It’s thanksgiving day! The day to give thanks and be grateful with every blessings God out poured to us. I’ve got loads of stuff to be grateful about this year and all the yesteryears of my life. Even the very breath I take is worthy enough in bringing utterance of gratitude from my lips. Indebted to the one who granted my every heart’s desire one after another. Today is not enough to be thankful about what he has given in my life. Everyday should be my thanksgiving day.
